Here's a quick
eye-over of what's unique about the Whisky Galore Festival that sets
it apart from other whisky tasting affairs (and its not the free
flow of spirit, but of course that's a given)
·
An
astonishing array of over 30 different bottlings of Scotch whiskies,
particularly single malts & the 1st time an 'indie' bottler (I.B) -
DUNCAN TAYLOR & CO - the current darling of the I.B. loving
Scotch fanatics in Europe - is making a splash in Singapore.
·
We'll like you to enjoy your dram in the way you like it and we
honestly believe one of the best & most thoughtful way about it is
to have a relaxed friendly atmosphere. You have our assurance that
its not going to be a tutored sit-down tasting where you're urged to
smell the vanilla, chocolate, honey, like as per the expert's
tasting notes (though we'll still have the notes on display in case
you'll like to find out.) Participants are free to roam around &
cris-cross different 'showcases' to explore why certain bottlings
are grouped the way they are. But in any case our friendly whisky
expert Mark Watt from Scotland will be on hand to share or answer
questions from eager whisky aficionados.
·
Guest appearance and performance by
CLANADONIA - a rambunctious 6-piece drums & pipe
band from Glasgow (think 'Braveheart' and tribal or check out
www.clanadonia.co.uk)
·
You
might think it strange for an event to start whisky enjoyment from
as early as 3pm in the afternoon and rounding up at the still
daylight hour of 7pm. That's because the festival is not intended
for one to get wasted (though at times it can be inevitable). We
hope that participants will enjoy the opportunity to discover the
enormous variety of whiskies that
Scotland
(with its over 100 distilleries) has to offer. And sensibly savoring
& getting the most out of the wonderful drams instead of simply
knocking it back.
